Durell “Butch” Hamm is Kentucky’s 2010 Teacher of the Year.

In this interview, Butch shares some of his insights and inspirations, as well as a handful of his favorite books, and leadership lessons. Butch has coached a number of very successful debate teams, and we chat considerably about the impact these experiences have on the kids who participate in the teams. We also talk about how students share in the learning equation, often in the role of teacher to the teacher. Butch also shares his thoughts on the line that teachers need to draw with engagement in social media, especially when it pertains to current students.

Durell “Butch” Hamm is a truly humble, dedicated teacher. You won’t want to miss this interview!
